5.30 a.m. Thursday October 6, 2016:

Hurricane Matthew is now 60 miles SSE of us, travelling towards us at 12 m.p.h. Category 3 at 125 m.p.h. We’re having a cup of tea before the power goes off! It should be past us within a few hours.
