This photo was taken when I was eleven years old, attending a ballet school in Buckingham. I’m third from right. I believe it’s the pantomime “Dick Whittington and His Cat” (correction: it was The Very Large Turnip!) that I appeared in. This was also around the time I wrote my first children’s book. I scribbled it in an old ledger that my father gave me from his shop. I used to carry the book everywhere, up trees, on a bank of soft primroses by a little stream, in school recesses…. Sadly, the book, which I completed writing in a year, was later lost somewhere in my travels. I do still have part of it though, which I plan on resurrecting and publishing one day.
