“He observed a slim young
woman in a shiny blue raincoat scurrying along a path on the other side of the
deep embankment. Blond hair spilled from her hood. Skidding on damp fallen
leaves, she quickly caught her balance.
“Within minutes, she melted
into a backdrop of orange and gold. He strained his eyes to look for her, but
she had gone. A Marilyn Monroe, a Grace Kelly …. a Princess Diana. She had
brought sunshine into his confined existence.”
