Not only did my book “Sunbeams from the Heart – A Collection of Twelve Romantic Short Stories” make Amazon's top 100 paid best-sellers' list in the Literature & Fiction/Short stories category shortly after it was first released, but it was next to Stephen King’s “Hearts in Atlantis” in Amazon's Best Sellers in Literary Short Stories! SUNBEAMS FROM THE HEART A WINNER!

Shortly after its release, my book “Sunbeams from the Heart: A Collection of Twelve Romantic Short Stories” made Amazon's top 100 paid best-sellers' list in the Literature & Fiction/Short stories category next to Stephen King’s “Hearts in Atlantis”! And the following month, "Sunbeams from the Heart" again made the top 100 paid bestsellers' list in the Literature & Fiction/Short Stories category, this time alongside Agatha Christie's “Miss Marple - The Complete Short Stories”!

One of my stories in "Sunbeams" is "The Rose Bower" (see excerpt). "Strawberry Cottage", Bideford, Devon, where I once lived as a child, inspired this romantic short story. The story was also published in "The Lady" magazine, England, along with some of the other stories in the book.

Sunbeams from the Heart is available on Amazon as an e-book and in paperback (regular and large print):

THE “TINY WINDOWS” OF SHORT STORIES

“Short stories are tiny windows into other worlds and other minds and other dreams. They are journeys you can make to the far side of the universe and still be back in time for dinner.” – Neil Gaiman

That’s the way many readers seem to feel about books of short stories. Mr. King’s book was number 67 and Sunbeams from the Heart number 69.

The following month, Sunbeams from the Heart again made the top 100 paid bestsellers' list in the Literature & Fiction/Short Stories category, this time alongside Agatha Christie's “Miss Marple - The Complete Short Stories”. Miss Marple was number 45 and Sunbeams number 44.

“This collection of short, romantic stories is heart-warming and beautiful,” wrote a reviewer about “Sunbeams from the Heart”. “I was impressed by the way the author developed each plot and took the reader on a lovely journey of nostalgia, leaving a wonderful feeling inside. Stories such as these brighten your day and leave you wanting more of what the author has written."

“Sunbeams from the Heart – A Collection of Twelve Romantic Short Stories” is available on Amazon as an e-book and in paperback (regular and large print).

THE CRAFT OF SHORT STORY WRITING

I’m getting back to my short story writing again and submitting stories to magazines in the U.K. and U.S.

As bestselling author and master of short stories Stephen King said in one of his videos that I watched the other day, the short story is a special art form and you can get out of practice with short stories if you just write novels.

Of course, many writers only want to write novels and that’s okay. But if you’re a lover of short stories, which I am, you don’t want to lose the touch! I won't neglect my next novel though!

TRY A LITTLE ROMANCE!

Romances don’t always need to be sickly sweet! My romantic short stories feature a man and a woman who meet in quite ordinary or sometimes unexpected circumstances. I like to bring two people together, who had no idea they might end up with each other. Of course, in most cases there is a stumbling block to their future happiness. True love does not always come easy!

Love themes in “Sunbeams from the Heart – A Collection of Twelve Romantic Short Stories” tell of nostalgia, bright new beginnings, homecoming, second chances, and the unexpected.

Someone recently told me, “Before reading your book ‘Sunbeams from the Heart’, I didn't really like reading romantic stories. That was not my thing at all. However, after reading your collection of romantic short stories I got so into it you hooked me! I'm now looking forward to more of your romances!”

And from a comment on my blog, “I love this collection of short stories! And what's so good is that you can read them again and have the same great feeling as you did reading them the first time!”

An Amazon reviewer wrote, “What a pleasure to come across twelve wholesome and romantic short stories as found in ‘Sunbeams From The Heart’.”

Not only did “Sunbeams from the Heart” make Amazon's top 100 paid best-sellers' list in the Literature & Fiction/Short stories category, but this book was next to Stephen King’s “Hearts in Atlantis” in Amazon's Best Sellers in Literary Short Stories!

One month later Sunbeams from the Heart again made the top 100 paid bestsellers' list in the Literature & Fiction/Short Stories category, this time alongside Agatha Christie's "Miss Marple - The Complete Short Stories". Miss Marple was number 45 and Sunbeams number 44.

Try a little romance. You might like it!

“Sunbeams from the Heart – A Collection of Twelve Romantic Short Stories” is available as an e-book and in paperback (regular and large print) HERE and in countries around the world where Amazon features an online store.
