COVID COMMENTS!

Like many of you, I don't get out much these days because of the stay at home orders. My husband Erskine does the shopping. I hadn't realized how futuristic everything had become because of Covid-19.

When I went into a local store this morning I was greeted at the door by not only a security guard and an employee, but a recorded announcement: "Please stand in the measuring area. Look at the camera. Temperature measuring!" On the wall to my right was a top-of-the-line hand sanitizer and directly in front of me what looked like a camera on a stand. I was directed to stay there while the "camera" took my temperature.

Sometimes I feel like running away up into the Scottish Highlands, with only the sheep and goats as my friends, far away from the Corona virus. Only kidding! I couldn't be without  my family.

If you feel like "running away", try reading "Sunbeams from The Heart: A Collection of Twelve Romantic Short Stories". An Amazon customer wrote in an review of Sunbeams from The Heart: “What charming stories I enjoyed them all....away from war, politics, bad television. Just lovely stories. They calmed my mind and lifted my soul."

Sunbeams from The Heart is available worldwide on Amazon as an e-book and in paperback (regular and large print) and Kindle Unlimited.

SUNBEAMS FROM THE HEART A WINNER!

Shortly after its release, my book “Sunbeams from the Heart: A Collection of Twelve Romantic Short Stories” made Amazon's top 100 paid best-sellers' list in the Literature & Fiction/Short stories category next to Stephen King’s “Hearts in Atlantis”! And the following month, "Sunbeams from the Heart" again made the top 100 paid bestsellers' list in the Literature & Fiction/Short Stories category, this time alongside Agatha Christie's “Miss Marple - The Complete Short Stories”!

One of my stories in "Sunbeams" is "The Rose Bower" (see excerpt). "Strawberry Cottage", Bideford, Devon, where I once lived as a child, inspired this romantic short story. The story was also published in "The Lady" magazine, England, along with some of the other stories in the book.

Sunbeams from the Heart is available on Amazon as an e-book and in paperback (regular and large print):

TOPSHAM ESTUARY MAGAZINE ROCKS!

How kind of the editors of the Estuary Magazine, a monthly publication in Topsham, Devon, England, to feature my press release “Age Ain’t Nothing But A Number” on page 47 of their November 2019 issue.

This article features my book “Moonbeams from the Soul: A Collection of Fourteen Provocative Short Stories”. And there is also a link for those who wish to help with Hurricane Dorian Relief.

Topsham is a lovely little town on the river estuary, where my mother lived for thirty-seven years of her life. And my family and I visited this beautiful spot over and over again throughout the years. Estuary Editors Diana Trout and José Northey have done a fabulous job with this latest bumper issue. It makes me feel quite nostalgic for Topsham!

THE EXETER DAILY, DEVON, ENGLAND
OCTOBER 7, 2019

This article about the release of “Moonbeams from the Soul”, my fifth book at age 75, appeared in The Exeter Daily, England, on October 7th.

I really appreciate The Exeter Daily giving this such a spread. I hope that the article in some small way might help bring more donations and assistance internationally for Hurricane Dorian victims.

The Scottish Connection: A Journey Back – Mini-memoir

Driving long distances in a short space of time throughout the United Kingdom is the norm nowadays. However, in the seventies it was often an adventure to cover the length or breadth of Britain. In this illustrated mini-memoir I share memories of my 1978 journey back to Scotland with my mother and young sons, to revisit our Scottish roots.

Enjoy!
