TURKEY ASSIGNMENT!

Hearing about turkeys and hams being given out to needy families over the Holiday Season reminded me of when I was a trainee reporter for a news agency in Exeter, Devon.

One of my most enjoyable assignments around Christmastime was to seek out families in need for my employers to give free turkeys to, write a human-interest story about the presentations and the circumstances of the recipients, and then phone the story in to the national newspapers in London (no internet in those days!).

"THE VALUABLE LEADER" BY VELMA KNOWLES

"THE VALUABLE LEADER" BY VELMA KNOWLES

“The Valuable Leader: Seven Steps to Greater Growth, Value, and Influence” is written by Velma Knowles, my husband’s niece.

“In The Valuable Leader—Seven Steps to Greater Growth, Value and Influence, Velma Knowles relates her own experiences as a learner and a leader, as well as those of many others who influenced her to learn what it means to be a Valuable Leader. She uses real stories from real leaders to illustrate the seven characteristics that nearly all Valuable Leaders share. Many of the sources for the stories will surprise you.”

Velma Knowles is the CEO (Chief Encouraging Officer) of Leaders Pathway, Florida, and is a certified marketer, speaker, trainer, and coach. She was born and raised in Nassau, Bahamas.
